About the Role
We are seeking a forward thinking and talented individual to take on the role of Area Engineering Manager within the CuSA Major Projects Portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity for a high performing professional to work within a capable project team, where your contribution will have a significant impact on the business.
Based in Adelaide and reporting directly into the Portfolio Engineering Manager this role will provide leadership to the Owner’s Engineering team and be responsible for driving engineering performance and technical outcomes from our external partners across a specific investment. The role covers all aspects of engineering will be including the development and execution of plans, assurance over processes and outcomes and integration into construction and handover.
As a key contributor and adviser, you will play a central role in driving improved performance and effectiveness across both our Owner’s Team and Engineering Service Providers. You will deliver on your accountabilities with an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility, and sustainable development.
Key accountabilities include:
- Lead performance management of external service providers, including execution of the relevant engineering, plans, standards, processes and drive for engineering effectiveness and capital efficiency.
- Ensure integrated engineering scope, cost, schedule, value and risk requirements are met.
- Ensure engineering Data Management, Change Management and Handover Management are effectively planned and executed on each investment.
- Develop and execute the engineering assurance plan, defining Owner’s Team targeted assurance relevant to key risks and opportunities.
- Influence stakeholders to drive optimised outcomes respectfully and professionally.
- Collaborates with project and operational teams to ensure that engineering is developed and executed in accordance with identified methodologies, strategies and systems.
- Foster an environment where internal lessons learned and external best practices are embedded in operational processes, driving continuous improvement, performance measurement, and identification of capital efficiency and productivity initiatives.
- Working within a proactive business culture and supported by a strong management structure, you will leverage your extensive experience to promote business excellence through your team. You will draw on your broad skill set across continuous improvement, technical knowledge, business acumen, and communication.
About You
- You will have extensive experience with tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a trade qualification with relevant experience in Project Management. With previous experience in a similar senior role you will have managed and developed teams and be confident in working within a complex environment. Leadership role within a major project (>$1B) is highly desirable.
- As an experienced professional with a passion for guiding, developing and influencing teams and individuals you will bring strong leadership capability and a demonstrated ability to deliver high performance through mentoring and coaching.
